Castellana Sicula is a town of just over 3,000 people located in Sicily’s Madonie mountains. By chance, I came across the Carnival parade it had organized with a handful of neighboring towns. I was amazed to see all the pop-culture references in people’s costumes, a visual testimony of the globalized world we live in.
